METUCHEN GOLF COUNTRY CLUB SWIM TEAM 2008
Welcome back to the new swim season! With our returning Swim Staff,we are looking forward to a great year and improving upon last years record. The Head Coach Marc MacNaughton comes to us with many years of experience in coaching swimming at all competitive levels. Most recently Marc was the Physical Education/Health Teacher the past two years at Delbarton School in Morristown, New Jersey where he was voted the 2005 Daily Record Boys Coach of the Year. Our own club member Corinne Timko who will be his Assistant Coach for her second season will join Marc. Corinne has worked several years as a lifeguard and swam for the club numerous years and has worked extensively as an instructor with many of our swimmers in the past.
In the first few weeks of training we will be emphasizing the build up of yardage for all three training groups. Our motto will be “ GO the DISTANCE”. The reason for this is to prepare the swimmers for harder training in the coming weeks, which will include drills for stroke improvement and intensive interval training. All swimmers need to come with a motivated work ethic. We will be embarking on a program of special drills designed to enhance the swimmers ability in all competitive swim strokes. Let’s have a great Season, and enjoy ourselves!

Those interested in becoming certified swimming officials. There will be 4 Sessions to get certified. Rememember if you have been certified, you must get recertified each year.
